The Rising Tide...When Does The Hurting Stop?

Records are more expensive now than ever and seem to go up in price constantly,  from start to finish.  The costs of manufacturing , shipping and profit margins are like revolving doors...what a fucking mess!  Here in Cana-DUH, Canada Post have just announced an increase in shipping costs, which once again hit the little folk! The following goes into effect on January 10th, 2022.  So if one is shipping or buying something, here's the simple scoop and you have now been warned....

The weighted average price for domestic parcels will increase by 3.5 % .... USA / International by 2.8%

SAND: Tripped Out German Legends 50 Years On

I don't recall when I actually heard Sand's debut album "Golem" from 1974, but I vividly remember being totally blown away!  Johannes Vester, Ludwig and Ulrich Papenberg, the trio that cut Golem have a recently released studio album (a double set) entitled "Vibrating Cloud" and it's a real corker!  The same French label Rotorelief, that did a deluxe issue of Golem in 2010 and another 4 LPs worth of unreleased material from the same time period, unleashed between 2011 and 2015.  Sand recorded this new set between 2015 and 2017.  It was issued last year, celebrating the groups 50th Anniversary.

Punk Rock Never Gets Old...

 Yesterday at The Birdman Sound Pop up, I replaced an old ultra fave LP by the godlike: Pagans "Street Where Nobody Lives" ; one of America's greatest ever punk bands from the almighty '70's Cleveland, Ohio scene.  I was also "gifted" for my birthday,  "State Of Mind" by ferocious newcomers from Melbourne, Australia: Stiff Richards!  These LPs were spun back to back this morning at 5:30 am.  Both these bands, despite being separated in time by 4 decades and nearly 10, 000 travel miles, were clearly and properly weaned on the same amphetamine fuelled, holy grail elixir, that forefathers The MC5 and The Stooges were bred on.  It dawned on me once again today, that it's still a wonderful world we live in and punk rock never gets old and it still fucking rules ! ❤👽
